The CM030, Cyma's version of the metal gearbox G18c, was modeled after the Tokyo Marui Metal Gearbox Airsoft version of the G18c. It was one of, if not, the first to incorporate a full metal gearbox into a hand pistol.
/Outdoors PR News/ - SAN GARBIEL, CA, September 19, 2008 - The CM030, Cyma's version of the metal gearbox G18c, was modeled after the Tokyo Marui Metal Gearbox Airsoft version of the G18c. It was one of, if not, the first to incorporate a full metal gearbox into a hand pistol. This advance in technology revolutionized the way airsoft players saw airsoft electric pistols, which were generally operated with two triple A batteries and lacked velocity.
With the TM G18c Airsoft Electric Pistol, the metal gearbox allows the gun to shoot hard above 250 FPS, and allows a fully automatic or semi automatic operation. When the announcement from Tokyo Marui first came to the surface, clearly it shocked the public that such an airsoft gun existed. Many airsoft players believed that eventually the technology of electric airsoft pistols will overcome the power and stability of gas airsoft guns.
