SANTA FE, NM, June 02, 2010 /Outdoors PR News/ -- It was the fourth inning of game 6 of the 1977 World Series. The Yankees were leading the heavily favored Dodgers three games to two. One more win and the Yankees would wrap up it up.
The Dodgers were ahead 3-2 in the fourth inning and Yankee catcher Thurman Munson was on first when Reggie Jackson came up to bat.
Jackson drove the first pitch on a line into the rightfield stands. The next inning Jackson smacked the very first pitch again into the rightfield stands. And he wasn't finished.
He was the lead off batter in the 8th inning and this time Jackson drove the very first pitch 475 feet into the centerfield stands.
The fans went wild and the Yankees clinched the World Series 8-4.
"I didn't come to New York to be a star, I brought my star with me," Jackson said about his skill. The fact that Jackson was already a powerhouse when he showed up in New York was a given.
On Feb. 26-27, Hunt Auctions in Exton, Pa., featured a 1978 Reggie Jackson, pinstriped, New York Yankees home jersey attributed to the 1978 World Series.

When the bidding stops and the hammer falls, the value of an item is set. The buyer, not the seller, sets the price, and this simple distinction cuts through all the chitchat about what art, antiques and collectibles are really worth. The emphasis is on today's values, not yesterday's wishful thinking.
Each week another new article is posted featuring a particular area of collecting.
• Every article showcases an auction item and how it fits into the big picture.
• A compelling, historical context is provided for the treasures people collect.
• Collecting tips are offered.
• Current "prices realized" are listed.
